BREA, CA - On August 18 at 1:18PM a fire was reported on the 600 block of Birch Street in the city of Brea. Upon arrival, Brea, Fullerton and Anaheim Fire Departments found a two story apartment building with smoke showing from on of the units on the second floor. Brea PD was able to evacuate residence before the first fire units arrived on scene. The fire went to 2nd alarm and was contained to a single unit on the second floor. A knock down was declared in approximately 20 minutes. One resident was overcome by smoke and transported to the nearest hospital with smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
