On January 7th around 10:30 AM, A fire was reported in the Pacific Palisades area North of Los Angeles. The fire quickly grew destroying everything in it's path. Santa Ana winds gusting at 100 MPH drove the fire through the city. Numerous houses were lost in the blaze. The fire burned areas in Malibu, Santa Monica, Mandeville Canyon and Brentwood areas. So far there have been almost a dozen fatalities linked to the fire. As of January 13th, The fire is at 8% containment. Numerous air resources have also been called in to assist with firefighting efforts. Two DC-10 tankers operated by 10 Tanker flew in from new Mexico and have been refilling at the San Bernardino Base. Numerous Fixed and rotary wing aircraft from Cal-Fire and other agencies have been assisting.
