Norwich Hires 4 and Promotes 3

At 3pm on Wednesday, 12/11/2024 the Norwich Fire Department held a badge pinning and promotional ceremony at City Hall. Chief Montoya welcomed the large crowd and talked about some of the sacrifices these new firefighters would be making during their career. 


Firefighter Griffin Bellavance had his badge pinned by his father Jeffrey who is the Moosup Fire Chief and a Detective with the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit. Firefighter Jacob Fabry was pinned by his parents Ryan & Amy. Firefighter Maximillian Kuczorski was pinned by his girlfriend Haley. Firefighter Michael Ignacio was pinned by his mother Diane. 


Firefighter Flaherty was promoted to lieutenant and was pinned by his father Jack Flaherty, a retired Yantic Firefighter. Lieutenant Flaherty will be assigned to Engine 3 on Platoon 2.


Lieutenant Michael Podzaline was promoted to captain and was pinned his wife Erin and their daughter Eleanor. Captain Podzaline will be assigned to Squad A on Platoon 1.


?Jason Erban was promoted to assistant chief of training and was pinned by his daughter. Each promoted individual gave a short speech and everyone gathered afterwards at These Guys Brewery.
