Parris Island Fire Department started training Firefighters to become Wildand Firefighters. The Department hopes to become a National resource which could be deployed through out the country on Wildland Fires. Captain Shane White is setting up the training and ordering equipment for the crew. Firefighters spent 4 days in the classroom and one day in the field. The crew has over a dozen members at this time. This crew will help with the shortage of resources that occurred this year.
