NORWALK, CT - The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a road construction milling machine on fire on Betmarlea Road just after 3:00pm on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 20th. No injuries were reported. Two Engines, a Ladder, and Command staff responded with a total of 14 firefighters. The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection responded due to a small amount of diesel fuel and hydraulic fluid that entered the runoff water from the firefighting operation. Firefighters used absorbent material to minimize the amount of fluid that entered into the local watershed. The Norwalk Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.
