Firefighters Handle Daytime Fire in Mastic Beach

MASTIC BEACH, NY - On Thursday, November 2nd at about 4:12 P.M., the Mastic Beach Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Washington Ave., off Drury Ln. Suffolk Fire Rescue dispatchers advised that they had reports of an active kitchen fire at the location. The first arriving chief requested that the working fire be transmitted, bringing in mutual aid from Mastic and Center Moriches to the scene. Firefighters from the first due units were able to get a quick knock down on the fire. No injuries were reported, though Mastic Beach Ambulance was on scene standing by in case they were needed. The scene was turned over to the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal for further investigation.
