Four People Transported from Structure Fire in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA - The Savannah Fire Department extinguished a fire in the 1800 block of Capital St. on the morning of October 1st.


Upon arrival, crews noticed a significant fire engulfing two residential structures. Two individuals were pulled from the home by SFD. Three people were transported to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.


SFD estimated that 20-25 people were displaced in the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The American Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.


A fourth person was later transported to the hospital with injuries. One of the four people transported to Augusta suffered serious injuries.
