A garage and the vehicle in it was well involved as New Milford firefighters arrived at approximately 1:10 PM on 9-15.  A breezeway attached the garage to the home and the flames were extending. Two lies were quickly stretched and attacked the fire. Progress was being made until crews reported fire on the second floor. A second alarm was transmitted.  Flames vented out of one second floor window and heavy smoke from another. An aggressive attack had the fire knocked down quickly. The fire was placed under control with no reported injuries. An investigation to the cause was initiated. Mutual aid units at the scene included Oradell, River Edge, Dumont, Bergenfield, and Haworth .
