FAST Operations Deployed as Oradell Tower 21 Covers Working Fire in Paramus –

Oradell, NJ - On August 12 in Bergen County, Oradell Fire Department Tower 21 responded to Bassett Furniture on Route 17 in Paramus for a reported outside fire that extended into the structure.


Upon arrival, Tower 21 was assigned as the FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team), operating in a standby position outside the building with the critical responsibility of being prepared to immediately assist or rescue firefighters operating inside if needed.


Interior fireground operations were underway as crews worked to control the incident, while the FAST team maintained readiness and monitored conditions to ensure rapid intervention capability in the event of an emergency.


Tower 21 remained on scene for approximately one hour before being released after completing its assigned standby duties. The response underscored the importance of dedicated FAST operations and coordinated mutual aid during active structure fire incidents.
