Odor of Smoke Investigation on Elbert Street Leads to Prompt Ramsey Fire Department Response

Ramsey, NJ - On July 28 in Bergen County, the Ramsey Fire Department and Rescue units were dispatched to a residential property on Elbert Street for a reported odor of smoke accompanied by electrical breakers tripping within the home.


Upon arrival, crews conducted a detailed investigation and confirmed an odor of smoke inside the residence. Firefighters from Engine 433, Engine 431, Tower Ladder 441, and Rescue 8 operated on scene to systematically evaluate conditions and locate the source of the issue.


As a precautionary measure, power to the residence was secured to eliminate any potential electrical hazard while crews continued their interior and exterior checks. The situation was closely monitored to ensure no active fire conditions were present.
