Mutual Aid Crews Responded to Pacific Avenue Restaurant Fire

Wildwood, N.J. — June 14 — A working fire was discovered in a restaurant kitchen when the City of Wildwood Fire Department, located at 4400 New Jersey Ave., responded to an activated fire alarm in the 4600 block of Pacific Avenue. The incident was upgraded to a first-alarm building fire, attracting mutual aid from the North Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, Rio Grande and Stone Harbor fire departments.


Firefighters rapidly limited the fire to the rear kitchen area while staff ventilated the building and investigated for extension. No injuries were recorded, and the fire was placed under control in about 15 minutes. The Cape May County incident Marshal's Office ruled the incident was unintentional.
