Fairfield, NJ - The Fairfield Fire Department responded to a residential call for smoke conditions from an unknown source, prompting an immediate investigation upon arrival.

Firefighters located a fire within the home’s crawlspace and quickly stretched a handline to access and suppress the seat of the fire. Additional Fairfield apparatus and mutual aid companies arrived to assist with checking for extension and conducting overhaul operations.

Due to the rapid actions of responding crews, the fire was successfully contained before it could spread further throughout the structure.
