LIVONIA, NY - On Friday, June 21, at 7:18 p.m., Town of Livonia Fire Departments (Livonia, Hemlock and Lakeville) along with Livonia EMS and East Avon F.D. (FAST) were dispatched to a fire in the wall at 62 Big Tree Street in the village of Livonia.
Livonia Asstant Chief Ben Woodruff arrived on location with nothing showing. Upon further investigation, there was reported smoke showing from a multi-unit apartment building.
A working fire was declared and a second-alarm was struck, bringing additional mutual aid from Geneseo and Lima Fire Departments along with Livingston County EMS.
Firefighters worked for about an hour to bring the blaze under control. All occupants were accounted for and were being assisted by the Red Cross.
There were no injuries, however one rabbit was lost in the fire. Avon and Caledonia Fire Departments provided stand-by coverage during the incident. Livingston County Emergency Management and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office were investigating the cause.
