This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Members of the Rochester Fire Department provided assistance in the Town of Berwick on June 11th in response to a significant scrap metal fire that necessitated a continuous water supply operation and a large number of mutual aid resources.

According to officials, C Shift personnel supported firefighting efforts for over 12 hours. Throughout the crisis, Tanker 7 was tasked with carrying thousands of gallons of water to the location as part of the water shuttle operation. In order to ensure a steady supply of water for suppression operations, Engine 2 set up a drafting station and delivered water to the tanker shuttle system.

Department leaders noted that incidents of this size require significant coordination between multiple agencies, with water supply operations playing a critical role in supporting firefighters working on the fireground.
