FREMONT, N.H. — May 22 — The Fremont Fire Rescue Department responded to a pickup truck fire on Whittier Drive close to Sandown Road. When Engine 1 arrived, the car was completely involved and there were flames spreading into a grassy area nearby. Firefighters extinguished the vehicle fire and the surrounding foliage while swiftly deploying hose lines to contain the spread.

Before resolving the situation, crews stayed on the scene to look for hot spots and make sure the area was secure. There were no reported injuries. Rapid suppression operations are essential to reducing damage because vehicle flames can quickly spread to neighboring grass and bushes. Without spreading to any further adjacent property, the fire was contained.
