Structure Fire on Spring Hill Ave. in Norwalk

NORWALK, CT - The City of Norwalk Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Thursday, March 30th, at 8:50 A.M.
The fire was located at #28 Spring Hill Ave in a two-and-a-half story residential home. Initial reports from an occupant stated that the house was on fire.
Upon arrival, Car 2 (shift commander) encountered light smoke coming from the left side of the structure, with smoke appearing to be coming from the basement in the area of the electrical panel and extending up the interior wall. Power was secured to the basement and all visible fire extinguished. Both the exterior and interior walls were opened up to check for and extinguish all fire which had started extending to the attic. The fire was extinguished in 20 minutes by a second-alarm assignment consisting of 4 Engines, 2 Ladder Trucks, 1 Rescue truck, and a Command vehicle, totaling 29 personnel.
Currently, there are 10 occupants displaced by the fire. There was no reported injuries to firefighters, as well as no reported injuries to civilians. The Norwalk Fire Marshal Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
