The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a single-family residential structure at 4 Tonetta Circle, 47 minutes past midnight on Sunday, March 9, 2025. The single adult occupant exited the home safely after smoke detectors alerted him to a fire in the basement which extended into the first floor living area. There was significant fire damage to the basement and two rooms on the first floor with extensive smoke damage throughout the dwelling. The Norwalk Fire Department responded with a total of 28 Firefighters in the 1st Alarm assignment consisting of three Engines, two Ladders, a Rescue Company and Command staff. No injuries were reported. The Norwalk Fire Marshalls office is investigating the cause of the fire.

The Norwalk Fire Department reminds residents replace batteries today as you change clocks for the beginning of daylight savings. Working smoke detectors played a significant role in alerting the occupant of the fire and gave enough time to safely evacuate.
