House undergoing renovations burns in Seneca Falls

SENECA FALLS, NY - Around 3:00 a.m., Sunday, February 16, Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Fayette and Geneva (RIT) fire departments responded to a house fire at 4 Mechanic Street in the town of Seneca Falls.
Units arrived on location and found heavy fire conditions throughout the home that was undergoing renovations and was unoccupied.
Firefighting efforts were hampered by a dead hydrant in front of the structure.
Canoga firefighters provided manpower to the scene and a stand-by crew at the Seneca Falls fire station.
Also assisting were North Seneca Ambulance, Seneca Falls Police and NYSEG.
Officials from the Seneca County Fire Investigation Team were working to determine the cause.
There were no injuries reported.
