Retired Union City/North Hudson Firefighter Mitch Gerrity
Photo by RON JEFFERSOn the morning of December 28th, local firefighters, fire officers, Chief of Department David Donnarumma, and Fire Directors Mike DeOrio, Jeff Welz, and Joe Isola, assembled at the 16th Street firehouse in Union City for retired Union City/North Hudson Firefighter Mitch Gerrity's, 65, funeral procession past his old firehouse. He served the community for 29-years and often said,"it was the greatest job in the world." Retired Deputy Chief Anthony Avillo said, "He was a do anything for you kind of a guy. Made the job more fun."
