Ewing Apartment Fire Claims Life of 6-Year-Old

On January 2nd, 2025 at 15:02, Ewing fire departments station 30, 31, 33 were dispatched to a reported building fire with victims trapped at 860 Lower Ferry Road, Cambridge Hall. All available Ewing PD units responded and started assisting with evacuations. FM 30-20 arrived and gave a size-up “7 story multi family apartments with smoke and fire out the 5th floor window on the A side”. Chief 31 arrived establishing command and immediately requested a 2nd alarm. Along with Ewing Township Fire Companies were Pennington FD, Lawerence FD, and Trenton FD. Ambulances from Ewing, Hopewell, Lawrence, Capital Health, Trenton, RWJ, and Princeton were also on scene. The fire claimed a life of a 6 year boy. Out of the 17 injured were 13 police officers and 1 firefighter, companies cleared at 21:30.
