BROOKLYN, NY - Brooklyn Firefighters responded shortly after 12:00 P.M. on December 31, 2023, to a report of a fire on the fourth-floor of a New York City Housing Development at 417 Morgan Avenue. First due companies encountered a working fire on arrival and quickly transmitted the all-hands, and then a 10-77 (the FDNY’s code for a high-rise fire). Two occupants of the building sustained moderate injuries and were removed via EMS. Initial reports point to E batteries as being the cause of the fire, although FDNY Fire Marshall will determine the exact cause.
