Manatee County Fire Academy Class# 44 completed their Basic Wildland class last week. All students in the State of Florida attending a Fire Academy must complete the Basic Wildland Class "S-190 S-130 L-180" in order to receive a Firefighter I Certificate. The class is a Federal NWCG approved class which is recognized in all 50 states unlike Structure Fire Certificates. The class consists of 32 hours in the classroom and 8 hour field day. Manatee County Fire Academy also opens the Wildland classes to the general public and other Agencies.
