Semi Truck Ends Up in Tree After MVC in Melbourne Beach

MELBOURNE BEACH, FL - US 1 reopened on November 21st after a mid-morning crash in front of the Rivercrest Apartments involving a car and semi-truck hauling Lime Rock.
After the impact, the southbound semi ran off the right-hand side of the road and hit oak trees and palm trees. The semi cab was several feet off the ground and became lodged between the oak trees.
Two people were transported to Holmes Reginal Medical Center by Brevard County Fire Rescue. Their condition is unknown at this time.
?Melbourne Fire Department stayed on scene until the semi was removed from the trees by a heavy-duty wrecker due to the fuel tanks leaking.
