WALTHAM, MA - A report of building fire at 15 Milner Street on November 9th sent Waltham Engine 2,4, 7,8, Rescue 1, Tower 1 and Medic 1. Engine 7 reported black smoke coming from the rear of the house which was fully involved. A second alarm was transmitted bringing Engine 1, 3, Squad 5, Medic 2 and Ladder 2.
Heavy fire was also in the basement and at one point all companies were ordered out of the house. The rear porch collapsed and residence hosed down the backyard to prevent dry brush from igniting. A 3rd alarm was transmitted bringing in companies from Cambridge, Belmont, Watertown, Weston, Lexington and Newton.
There were no injuries and the State Fire Marshal was called to the scene. Of note a retired Deputy Fire Chief lived at this address many years ago.
