DUNSTABLE, MA - Dunstable Ma firefighters fought this 4th alarm fire in the morning on 12/16/24. Citizens banging on the door to the fire station notified the on duty crew of the fire directly across the street from the fire station. The on duty crew arrived to find heavy fire showing from a large barn attached to a farmhouse. Command quickly struck a 2nd alarm bringing in mutual aid to the scene. A 3rd and 4th alarm were struck for manpower and water supply purposes. Multiple handlines and 1 ladder pipe were used to knock down the heavy volume of fire. Companies entered the farmhouse and made an aggressive interior attack to keep the fire from extending further into the home. Companies remained on scene for several hours overhauling and checking for hot spots. No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation by the Massachusetts Fire Marshal's Office.
