Propane Fire Pit Fire Quickly Knocked Down

WHITMAN, MASSACHUSETTS (PLYMOUTH COUNTY) - Around 1745 hours on the evening of Wednesday, November 6, 2024 the Whitman Fire Department received a call for a reported propane tank on fire outside of a house. A box was struck and Engine-243, Car-3, and Car-1 responded. Car-1 arrived on-scene first and reported a small fire on top of the propane tank which was inside a propane fire pit. A dry chemical extinguisher was utilized before the engine arrived to knock down the fire and shut off the propane tank. Companies cleared the scene shortly after the tank was removed and deemed safe.
