DIX HILLS, NY - The Dix Hills and Deer Park Fire Departments were activated for a reported house fire on November 3rd, just before 1:30 P.M. First arriving units discovered smoke showing from a two-story private dwelling, and after an investigation it was determined that there was an extinguished kitchen fire with possible extension. Additional manpower was requested, along with a Town of Huntington Fire Marshal. Under the control of 1st Assistant Chief Tepe, firefighters quickly ventilated the structure and discovered the fire did not extend to any other part of the house. One dry attack line was deployed for precaution. Units were up within the hour, and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
