Mastic FD Handles a 2 Vehicle Crash

Mastic N.Y.- On September 22nd at about 7:45 PM the Mastic Fire Department was activated for a Motor Vehicle Crash at Titmus Dr & Montauk Hwy. Mastic EMS was also dispatched to the scene as well. Mastic Fire Department Chief Rudy Sunderman arrived on scene and confirmed no one was trapped. He advised he had a confirmed 2 vehicle MVA and that the 2nd vehicle was atleast 50 feet to the west of initial scene.
Engines 5-12-1, 5-12-2 and 5-12 -4 responded into the scene. Chief Sunderman requested brooms shovels and speedy dry. Firefighters went to work securing the vehicles including cutting the battery cables. Fire Police along with the department’s assistant chief went to work closing the road in both directions to ensure firefighter and EMS safety. EMS spoke with the drivers and occupants of both vehicles, but they all refused medical attention (RMA). Suffolk County Police 7th precinct and ESU were also on scene. The scene was turned over to SCPD after FD and EMS completed their work. SCPD waited on scene for the tow trucks to arrive.
