RUSH, NY - Shortly before noon, on Friday, February 7, firefighters responded to a basement fire at 8788 West Henrietta Road in Rush.

A working fire was declared, and due to a lack of hydrants in the area, numerous mutual aid departments responded with tankers from Monroe, Livingston and Ontario counties.

There were no injuries reported and at least one cat was rescued from the home.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
