Mastic Beach N.Y. – On a recent Weds evening the Mastic Beach Fire Department was activated for a report of a vehicle accident in front of CVS on Havenwood Dr. 2ndAssistant Chief Luis Grego {5-13-32} arrived on scene first and advised that he had a 2-car crash and 1 hit the building. On arrival 1st Assistant Chief Jeff McGown Assumed command of the scene. Rescue 4 came into the scene and the crew secured both vehicles and put down speedy dry to clean up a fluid spill. Mastic Beach and Shirley Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the scene as well the drivers of both vehicles were checked out by EMS personnel and one of them was taken to a local hospital by Shirley Ambulance for further evaluation. Fire Police 80 assisted with traffic control while firefighters operated on scene. A fire marshal was requested to the scene and buildings was notified due to damage to the structure.
