SANDY HOOK, CT - Firefighters & Ladies Auxiliary members worked hard all summer to compete and win the CT State Firefighters Assoc. 140th Annual Convention in Thomaston, CT on Sunday, September 17th. This was their first win in their 85 years of service. After winning a trophy and Grandfather clock, members headed to the cemetary where long-time Chief Bill Halstead is laid to rest to share their win. This was an award he strived for in his 57-year career. Firefighters then returned to their main station to celebrate with friends and family.
