Danbury, CT - The Danbury Fire Department - CT responded to a reported structure fire at 34 Town Hill Avenue on September 2, where units were dispatched for a possible apartment fire.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire originating in the kitchen of a third-floor apartment. Firefighters quickly advanced handlines to the upper floor and initiated an aggressive interior attack. Strong coordinated operations allowed crews to bring the fire under control before it could extend further into the structure.

During the incident, two police officers were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment of smoke inhalation and were later treated and released. One resident was also evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation but declined further transport.

On scene in Danbury, Fairfield County, crews completed extensive overhaul operations to ensure full extinguishment and eliminate any hidden fire spread. The Danbury Fire Marshal’s Office has been assigned to investigate the cause and origin of the incident.

The department also took the opportunity to remind residents about the importance of working smoke alarms and having a practiced home escape plan, both critical factors in ensuring survival during residential fire emergencies.
