Vacant House Fire in Mastic Beach Quickly Contained by Firefighters

Mastic Beach, N.Y. — A fire broke out at a vacant house on Lynbrook Dr. in Mastic Beach on the night of Sept. 2, 2024, prompting a swift response from the Mastic Beach Fire Department.

Around 10 p.m., a report of the fire was received, and firefighters were dispatched to the scene under the command of Chief Luis Grego. Upon arrival, crews worked quickly to contain the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

Due to the rapid response, the fire was brought under control, and all mutual aid requests were cancelled. Mastic Beach Ambulance was on standby at the scene, though no injuries were reported.

The scene was turned over to the Brookhaven Fire Marshal’s Office for further investigation into the cause of the fire.
