Newburgh-Beacon Bridge Jumper Identified

BEACON, NY - Newburgh and Middlehope FDs were requested by Beacon FD to assist in searching the Hudson River for a subject that jumped from the Newburgh-Beacon bridge on September 17th. A Command Post was set up at Long Dock Park in Beacon. Newburgh and Middlehope launched their boats from the Newburgh Yacht Club. The search was called off after about 45 minutes when the subject was not located. The jumper, Ryan Franolich, age 34, of Clinton, NY, was later found deceased with the assistance of the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team and Aviation.
