On Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, the Brookhaven Fire Department conducted a solemn 9/11 ceremony, led by Chief of Department Anthony Verni. This event was dedicated to honoring the memory of the 343 FDNY firefighters who tragically lost their lives on that fateful day. Among those remembered was Firefighter Lincoln Quappe. He was a member of the Brookhaven Fire Department, and was assigned to Rescue 2 located in Brooklyn. He was last seen in the South Tower doing what he was trained to do, help others. The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of all heroes, ensuring their legacy lives on in the hearts of those they protected.
