A small brush fire broke out along the railroad tracks in Feura Bush on Saturday, July 16.
Onesquethaw Fire and EMS was dispatched with Albany County Sheriff’s just after 5:00 p.m. for a possible brush fire along the railroad tracks behind 190 New Scotland South Road.
Crews used an access road on the other side of the tracks off of New Scotland South Road where they were able to bring the engines down as close as they could.
Arriving chiefs advised dispatch they had an active fire along the tracks and to notify CSX to shut down all rail traffic in that area as they were operating along the tracks.
Crews then loaded up on the brush truck and drove down the tracks to make it to the brush fire on the side of the tracks.
The brush truck made a few trips back to the engines to refill the tank with water until they were sure the fire was completely extinguished and there were no hotspots.
