Attleboro, MA - The Attleboro Fire Department responded on August 25 to multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire on Burt Street, where crews arrived to find an attached garage fully involved in fire with a vehicle also burning inside.

First-due companies were faced with an escalating incident as flames were extending toward the attached residence, while live electrical wires were observed arcing across the driveway, adding an additional layer of hazard to operations. Despite these challenges, firefighters immediately initiated an aggressive fire attack on the garage while additional crews entered the home to conduct primary searches and check for extension.

On August 25 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, crews worked under rapidly deteriorating conditions to bring the fire under control, successfully stopping the fire at the garage and preventing it from extending into the living space of the home.

Within approximately 20 minutes, firefighters had the main body of fire knocked down, followed by overhaul operations to ensure complete extinguishment and eliminate hidden hot spots. The residence sustained only minimal smoke damage, though three vehicles were damaged as a result of the fire.

One firefighter was transported for evaluation as a precaution, while two residents sustained minor burn injuries but declined further medical transport. Utility crews from National Grid secured electrical hazards, and the Attleboro Building Department also responded to the scene.

Mutual aid support was provided by the North Attleboro Fire Department, with additional station coverage from neighboring departments. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Attleboro Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit.
