Freeport, N.Y. — June 26 — A reported fire at a private residence on Lena Avenue prompted the Freeport Fire Department, located at 15 Broadway. After identifying active fire conditions, Engine 216 arrived first and transmitted a working fire. While other teams established a water supply and checked the house for inhabitants and fire extension, firefighters launched an interior attack.

Neighboring municipalities' mutual aid agencies reacted by offering operational and manpower support. Before giving the building back to investigators, crews put out the fire, finished the overhaul, and looked for any hidden fires. The cause of the fire was still being looked into, and no injuries were recorded.
