Mutual Aid Assisted at Franklin Square House Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Franklin Square, N.Y. — July 20 — A report of smoke coming from the attic of a house close to Semton Boulevard and Sobo Avenue prompted the Franklin Square Munson FD, 841 Liberty Place, to respond. When firemen arrived, they discovered a fire on the second level of a two-story private residence and started fighting it right away.

In order to immediately put out the fire and stop it from spreading further into the attic and surrounding regions, two handlines were stretched and put into duty. While firefighters finished overhauling, looked for concealed fires, and made sure the house was secure before going back to work, mutual aid units arrived to provide extra personnel and scene support.
