RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ - On Sunday, July 21st, the Ridgefield Park Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 68 College Pl. shortly after 6:30 P.M.

Chief Lynn arrived on scene and reported a large volume of fire on the second-floor and extending into the attic of a home. He transmitted the 2nd alarm, bringing mutual aid companies to the scene, and then followed it with a 3rd alarm, bringing additional mutual aid units to the scene.

Crews had four lines stretched and operating and vertical ventilation was conducted to assist in knocking down the fire in the attic. Crews conducted extensive overhaul of the fire building. Firefighters had the three-alarm blaze under control in a little over 30-minutes.

No injuries were reported, and the family got out safely, along with their dogs and bird. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Mutual aid companies from Teaneck, Little Ferry, Hackensack, Bogota, Ridgefield, Leonia, Fort Lee, Englewood and Hasbrouck Heights either operated on scene or covered at the Mt. Vernon St. firehouse, as well as the County Wide Emergency Response Team and Bergen County EMS.
