Around 1:30pm Saturday July 20th Pittston City fire department structure box was dispatched for a reported house fire. When units arrived heavy smoke was showing and Pittston City fire command called for a 2nd alarm structure box. Interior crews faced no visibility conditions on the second floor and once opening up windows to help with visibility they found active fire in the walls and ceiling with heavy fire in the attic that was undergoing remodeling and fire fighters faced another problem due to new dividers in the way. Fire fighters battled the blaze for over 3 hours to fully extinguish the fire and do overhaul to make sure all fire and hotspots were fully out to prevent another fire happening. Several people are displaced at this time and the fire is under investigation and the home is currently unlivable until the cause of the fire is found and the home is fixed and livable again.
