Excavator Fire Quickly Contained Off Rahway Avenue

At 7:53 p.m. on July 7, the Avenel Fire Department was called to a field fire off Rahway Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered a fully engaged excavator blazing close to train tracks and electricity lines. In order to stop the fire from spreading to neighboring vegetation or other dangers, workers swiftly extended a hose line and put it out.
The Avenel Fire Prevention Bureau was given the site to look into.
