West New York Structure Fire Displaces Numerous Occupants
Photo by RON JEFFERSNorth Hudson fire companies were dispatched to a fire at 5024 Bergenline Avenue, West New York, July 8th, with Fire Control notifying responding units that they were receiving numerous phone calls, followed by a report by police of fire showing. Flames were venting out windows on both the Bergenline Avenue and 51st Street sides of the top floor of a three-story mixed use building. Hand-lines were advanced and the fire was quickly knocked down in the involved apartment. Due to the heat, Deputy Chief Daniel Fresse struck a second-alarm for additional resources. Several firefighters were treated by West New York EMTs for non-life-threatening conditions. Numerous occupants were displaced.
