WEST NEW YORK, NJ - North Hudson fire companies were dispatched to a fire at 5024 Bergenline Ave., West New York, July 8th, with Fire Control notifying responding units that they were receiving numerous phone calls, followed by a report by police of fire showing.

Flames were venting out windows on both the Bergenline Ave. and 51st St. sides of the top floor of a three-story mixed use building. Hand-lines were advanced and the fire was quickly knocked down in the involved apartment.

Due to the heat, Deputy Chief Daniel Fresse struck a second-alarm for additional resources. Several firefighters were treated by West New York EMTs for non-life-threatening conditions. Numerous occupants were displaced.
