FALMOUTH, MA - On July 9th around 1:30 P.M., a person at Old Silver Beach in Falmouth reported seeing someone bobbing in the water. An initial response was Engine 24, Ambulance 38, the fire boat and a tow boat. Further requests for assistance came from Joint Base Cape Cod Rescue 411, Hyannis, Barnstable County and Hyannis dive teams. A Coast Guard helicopter also assisted. Swimmers were not permitted in the water and the parking lots were closed. Falmouth's fire boat saw something in the water as well as a drone, but divers were unable to find anything. The search was terminated after several hours.
