Holyoke, MA. — June 9 — A tractor-trailer knocked down a traffic signal at the intersection of Appleton and Maple streets, prompting Holyoke Fire Department firefighters to arrive. While municipal workers started fixing the damaged signal, members of the department's Alarm Division secured the area. While responders controlled the area and made sure the crossroads remained safe for drivers, traffic remained restricted.

Until the work was finished, firefighters coordinated with repair teams and helped with traffic management. While repairs were ongoing, officials warned vehicles to anticipate delays. The event made clear how crucial it is for public works workers and emergency services to work together when there are traffic risks.
