Pine Bluff firefighters face university fire

PINE BLUFF, AR - An early morning fire cause heavy damage to the second floor of a three story male dormitory (Johnson Hall) on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) on May 2.
Responding to 1204 L.A. Prexy Drive around 8:00 a.m. were four fire companies and two ambulances.
Firefighters arriving on scene found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the dormitory. UAPB campus security was on scene when the fire department arrived and had begun to evacuate the students.
Three rescued students were transported by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Officials said 50 units were damaged. Fire officials are investigating the fire.
