Shelton, CT - Shelton Fire Department Companies 1 and 3 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 8 northbound near Exit 11.

Upon arrival, crews located a single-vehicle rollover in the wooded median adjacent to the off-ramp. The vehicle had left the roadway, traveled through the median, overturned, and came to rest after striking a bridge abutment.

The sole occupant was able to self-extricate as firefighters arrived. Crews stabilized the vehicle, secured the scene, and assisted with vehicle recovery operations. Shelton EMS evaluated the driver on scene and transported the individual to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
