Leverett Crews Responded to Utility Pole Crash

LEVERETT, MA. — June 5 — Leverett Fire/EMS responded to a car collision on North Leverett Road that included a pickup truck and a utility pole. About ten homes' electrical service was momentarily interrupted when the car veered off the road and collided with the pole. While utility workers attempted to restore electricity, firefighters secured the area, evaluated potential threats, and helped with traffic management.


The motorist was sent to a nearby hospital for assessment after suffering minor injuries. During reaction and cleanup efforts, North Leverett Road was closed for about forty-five minutes. Amherst Fire, Shutesbury Police, Massachusetts State Police, Eversource, and Ernie's Towing all provided assistance to Leverett Fire/EMS.
