East Litchfield Crews Assisted at Route 8 Crash Scene

Litchfield, CT. — June 17 — When the East Litchfield Fire Co. responded to a car accident on Route 8, Engine 26 was utilized as a blocking device to keep emergency personnel safe. While keeping a safe working area between responders and oncoming traffic, the department assisted NVFD workers during the event. During traffic situations, blocking devices are crucial for lowering dangers and enabling teams to work safely.


Firefighters advised drivers to slow down and move over while approaching emergency vehicles after the response. Respecting Connecticut's Move Over Law contributes to the safety of law police, firefighters, emergency medical services, and drivers engaged in traffic accidents.
