Working Commercial Fire in Bethel Triggers Multi-Alarm Mutual Aid Response
Bethel, CT - Bethel Fire & EMS and Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company responded to a reported automatic fire alarm at a commercial occupancy on Turkey Plain Road.
Upon arrival, the incident was quickly upgraded to a working fire with heavy smoke showing from the structure, prompting a second alarm response and mutual aid from multiple surrounding departments. Crews initiated fire suppression operations, established a water supply, and conducted roof ventilation to improve interior conditions.
Due to the size and complexity of the incident, additional resources were brought in for firefighting support, rapid intervention, and station coverage. Multiple agencies assisted with engines, trucks, tankers, EMS coverage, and scene operations. No injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation by the Bethel Emergency Management & Fire Marshal’s Office.
